Dr. William Henry Drummond
Collected Works
edited by Robyn Gabriel

Dr. William Henry Drummond was a most beloved Northern bard.

For someone who lived a relatively short life, Dr. William Henry Drummond made a huge impact in Canadian literary history. Born in Ireland, he emigrated to Canada with his family at a young age. He became a doctor, co-owned a silver mine with his brothers, and became one of the most widely-loved poets in Canada. Dr. Drummond used humour and wit to accurately portray life in rural Canada. His poetry was born from a desire to improve relations between French and English speaking Canadians and his love for the people. Every line was written out of admiration and affection for the French-Canadian culture.

This book of 130 poems is as complete a collection as we could manage. His unique style and authentic portrayal of French-Canadian culture makes this a must read!
